Chromogenic Endotoxin Testing Reagents

Our PyrochromeŽ product line is now available with flexible ordering options to fit your specific testing needs. The new packaging option separates out the PyrochromeŽ & PyrochromeŽ buffer from the Control Standard Endotoxin (CSE), allowing you to purchase the CSE separately. In addition, we are now featuring a 10 ng/vial of CSE as a replacement for the 2 EU/vial of CSE, which allows for a broad range standard curve.

Pyrochrome LAL reagent, developed in a collaborative effort with Seikagaku Corporation, was created specifically for chromogenic assays. The reaction releases a chromophore, para-nitroaniline (pNA), when exposed to endotoxin. The concentration of endotoxin is determined by the increase in optical density. Pyrochrome LAL reagent is versatile and can be used to perform kinetic or end-point assays in tubes or microplates.

Pyrochrome LAL reagent is also offered in a diazo kit for end-point tests. The diazo reagents change the color of the chromophore from yellow to magenta making it especially useful for testing samples with color interference at 405-410 nanometers.
